JD explained: “Your safety and the safety of the passengers is more important than anything. It doesn’t matter if it’s too hot, too cold, if you’re not safe to drive, safety is number one. You cannot be selfish. You know you’re not feeling well, and driving is not right."
Another driver told WSWS reporters, “We had a problem, and they should have told us they’ve resolved it, or at least set out a timeframe, one or two months. But they didn’t tell us anything, both Unite and the transport companies.”
One young worker said, “I haven’t heard anything. Not in the group chats, and not from the union rep.” Asked what he thought about Unite calling off the strike, “It’s bu****it. I think they were ready to just accept any offer.”
