Hannah Cawley is standing for Labour in the by-election on September 17th 🌹

I am delighted to let you all know that I have been selected to be the Labour Party candidate for the upcoming by-election in Walkley, Upperthorpe and Netherthorpe.

This area is my home I've lived here for nearly 30 years and I am proud to be part of this community. I raised my son here and I have lived across the ward in Upperthorpe, Netherthorpe and now Walkley.

I have the experience to be your local councillor. All my working life I've worked to help people.

I will build on the work of Tom Hunt and the Labour team here. This is a great place to live and I want to make it even better.

I know this community and I won't let you down.

🏗️ Great to see a crane installed at Bole Hill View where new council homes are being built.

✅36 new homes are being built at the site and they're on track to be completed in summer 2027. The new homes are much needed. As a local councillor for Walkley, I have pushed for this site to be brought back into use.

✅Over the next few years we will provide 1000 new council homes across Sheffield. The Labour Government is helping councils to build and is providing record amounts of funding for new social and affordable homes.

✅The new affordable homes will all be for social rent - around 50% of market rent - and rented by the Council. They will bring an empty brownfield bit of land back into use. The site is opposite the petrol station on Northfield Rd and is on the 52 bus route.

I will continue to push for new affordable homes of all sizes.
