👮🏼‍♀️ 👮🏽‍♂️ PCSO’s from our Woodhouse/Westfield team attended a SEN Fun Day this week at Beighton Welfare Ground, organised by TFN Sensory Emergency

The event was well attended by Children with additional needs and their families.

🚓 🚨 The Children had fun looking around the Police vehicle and speaking with our officers about how we help people.

The event was aimed at bringing people together and creating a welcoming space for SEN families and celebrating inclusion, community and fun.

STEALTH MODE: ACTIVATED - A little game of hide and seek with this Sur-ron today

This bike had been seen driving on roads and pavements around Manor & Arbourthorne, so after a little perseverence and patience, we made our move, found our target, and before we knew it.... GAME OVER - Sur-ron seized.

Officers’ presence at planned car meet

We are aware of a planned car meet this evening at Drakehouse Retail Park.

We know car meets impact on our local communities and residents, and we are working with the organisers to ensure those visiting the retail park and local area are not impacted and that anti-social behaviour and driving does not occur.

While we are present, we will be taking action against any criminal activity and illegal modifications on vehicles. Keeping people safe is our priority. If you have any concerns please speak to us.

Sheffield partnership operation results in arrest, goods seized, and business closure

An operation carried out at several businesses on East Bank Road on Thursday (23 July) has resulted in an arrest and multiple goods seized.

Our officers worked alongside partners at Immigration, Sheffield City Council, HMRC and the Fire Service to investigate offences at business premises on East Bank Road. Officers from our Tactical Support Group (TSG), gained entry to business premises and partners conducted searches and enquiries inside.

One man was arrested by Immigration on suspicion of working illegally and another man was issued with a court summons for obstruction. Officers seized significant quantities of cash during the warrant and will carry out further enquires under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Sheffield City Council’s Trading Standards seized 110 counterfeit or unsafe toys during the operation, as well as 30 packs of illicit ci******es. Chiuwah Cash and Carry was found to be operating without authorisation and to be storing frozen and chilled meat in broken fridges and freezers.

The store was served with a Hygiene Emergency Prohibition Notice closing the business with immediate effect until serious and imminent risk conditions have been remedied. Additionally, searches of the same premises found that a boxing gym was operating there without authorisation.

There was also evidence of unauthorised residential use of part of the premises, and of unauthorised storage and distribution at a warehouse on the site.

Detective Constable Newman Holt, the officer in charge of the operation, said: “It is always good to work with partner agencies and together we have uncovered concerning practices at these premises and taken appropriate action.

“We will not tolerate South Yorkshire businesses operating in a rogue manner. Victims of such business practices are not just employees who may be exploited, but customers who could be sold faulty, counterfeit or even dangerous goods.

“We carry these operations across the county based on intelligence we have gathered, and will continue to robustly enforce the law.”

NEWS: Officers respond to car meet in Sheffield retail park

During their night shift, roads policing officers responded to a car meet where over 500 vehicles descended on Drakehouse Retail Park in Sheffield.

‘We are here to ensure the roads are a safer place for everyone, and people’s lives are not taken or put in danger’ - Sergeant Martyn Micklethwaite.

During the evening, 30 Traffic Offence Reports were issued to drivers for various illegal offences, such as heavily tinted windows and no number plates being displayed.

One driver had their vehicle seized for having no insurance. Two other drivers had their vehicles seized for driving in a dangerous manner, and two were prohibited from driving due to the poor condition of their cars.

🗣️ Sgt Mickthewaite explains more: “We will not tolerate those who use car meets as opportunity to show off in poorly maintained vehicles and put people’s lives at risk.

“Last night, my team was at the car meet for over three hours of our shift, processing drivers and vehicles.

“While some people were abiding by the law, there were still people intent on arriving in dangerously kept cars, without insurance, or with modifications that can cost lives.

“We see the impact collisions have and as roads policing officers, we are the ones supporting families through tragedies no one should endure.

“We all have a responsibility for road safety.”

BURGLARY ADVICE: As we continue to enjoy warmer weather in South Yorkshire, we're reminding everyone of the importance of making sure your home is secure.

Leaving doors and windows open can be a good way to air out your home - but it can also make it more attractive to criminals.

If you're popping out to the shops or sunning it up in the back garden, please make sure your home is secure and that doors and windows are locked.

Thieves are looking for easy opportunities. Don't give them the chance to turn your safe space into a target.

This summer you should be able to go away with your family without worrying about your belongings at home. But unfortunately this isn't always the case.

We know that thieves and burglars will be looking for easy opportunities to target your home - especially if you're away on holiday.

Almost half of all burglaries happen when no one is at home. We are sharing some simple top tips to help become less of a target to burglars while you are off having fun in the sun:

🤝 Get a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property
💡 Consider using a light timer switch to turn lights on at pre-set times
