Unit Family & Friends Fun Day 2026

Yesterday, we held our annual Unit Fun Day were the cadets and their families enjoyed a variety of activities ⚽️. These included inflatables, karaoke, flight simulator, sumo wrestling and a disco.

We also had a very tasty BBQ 🌭🍗 🍔

Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope you all had a great time.

Also, thank you to all the volunteers that organised and ran the day.

Well done to the cadets who received qualifications and promotions last night.

Awarded were a paddle qualification, 2 Junior First Class promotions, and a cadet passed out, received his beret, and joined his division.

Last week, we had a few of our Royal Marines Cadets attend the annual summer camp. Well done to Cadet L/Cpl Bird on being presented with Best in Troop for Gallipoli Troop.

Thursday nights activities and presentations.

Cadets were up on the playing fields again during Thursday night playing a game of ultimate frisbee. 🥏

We also had 3 sets of presentations that were given out. Awarded were 2 sailing qualifications, 1 Stage 3 windsurfing qualification and 1 paddle safety and rescue.

Some photos from Monday nights activities on the top field. ⚽️🏉

Cadets spent the evening playing games of football and kick rounders on the top field as part of the PT night. They had lots of fun and all involved with the games.

Also congratulations to PPO (SCC) Manning on being promoted to the substantive rate of Petty Officer (SCC) after completing her core modules.

Good luck and farewell to one of our cadets as they turn 18 🎈

Cadet Corporal Godley was presented yesterday with a framed collage of pictures, commemorating the last 4 years he has spent as a Royal Marines Cadet.

During his time with us, he attended a range of courses and events such as Sheffield Armed Forces day parade, the Royal Navy Regional Capability Demonstration at the Cutlers' Hall and gained boating qualifications. He also played in the unit band. 🎶

We wish he all the best and good luck with all that the future holds. 🌟

Yesterday, 28 cadets were on the water at our boating station again 🚤⛵

They had some great weather while developing their teamwork and boating skills.

The paddlers🛶 were working on the next stage of their qualification while the windsurfers were practicing skills for the stage 3 course.
