High Storrs Celebrates Outstanding GCSE Results with Exceptional Success Across the Curriculum

High Storrs School students are celebrating another year of excellent GCSE results, with strong outcomes across a wide range of subjects.

More than 50% of students achieved the highest grades of 8 or 9 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while almost one third secured top grades of grades 8 or 9 in many subjects including Mathematics, Food, Business Studies, CNAT Sport, Geography, Latin, Music, Computing and Psychology.

The school's large and diverse cohort also achieved strong outcomes in the key measures of English and Mathematics. Overall, 87% of students achieved at least a grade 4 in both subjects, while nearly three quarters secured a grade 5 or above.

Headteacher Claire Tasker said:

"We are absolutely delighted with these results and incredibly proud of our students. High Storrs is a large and inclusive school, and these outcomes reflect the hard work and commitment shown by our young people throughout their time with us.

What makes today particularly special is that these achievements have been secured by a group of students who have given so much to our school community. They are thoughtful, caring and ambitious young people, and they deserve to celebrate everything they have achieved.

I would also like to thank our staff and families. These results are a testament to a community working together to help every young person succeed."

Tom Highnett, Director of Key Stage 4, added:

"We are so proud to celebrate the achievements of this lovely, kind, hardworking and talented year group. They have approached their studies with determination and maturity, whilst contributing enormously to the wider life of the school. It has been a privilege to support them, and we are thrilled to see their efforts rewarded today."
