They offer a combination of practical and academic employer-led learning for students from Y9. The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust specialist courses designed with employers in five exciting areas: Computing; Creative and Digital Industries; Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing; Health Sciences and Sport Science. These are all regional, national and international growth areas that will offer strong
career opportunities in the future. The Sheffield UTC Academy Trust comprises three government-funded University Technical Colleges in Sheffield and Derby - UTC Sheffield City Centre, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park and UTC Derby Pride Park. Together, they offer technical in areas of high demand for talent: Health and Wellbeing, Sport Science, Engineering and Creative and Digital Industries and are backed by over 70 employers, and recruit 13 to 19-year-olds from across Sheffield City Region and Derbyshire. Students learn in the latest high-tech facilities and complete high quality technical qualifications as well as GCSEs and A Levels. The curriculum and buildings have been designed with employers who also provide industry projects, work experience and work placements. Together, the schools provide a dynamic, employer-led and supportive learning environment with outstanding industry standard facilities, offering students access to careers-focused education unavailable elsewhere.
