ats and accessories available for hire. These can be hired from free bookable 10min library clinic appointments at the Surgery's permanent home (The Snug on Leadmill Road) from consults or workshops, or by fast-track arrangement from the Sling Spot shop next door. Appointments can be viewed and booked on our website sheffieldslingsurgery.co.uk/consults/

Pre and post-natal sessions are available. There are appropriately weighted demonstration dolls available for practising and there is a large range of slings that may be borrowed to try out at home. The popular Fourth Trimester course is now held online via Zoom which means we are available to locals and non locals alike, hooray! To check course dates and book a place please head to our website. Back to school week!

How's everyone doing? Can't wait for 5 minutes peace/in denial about another year slipping by/shell-shocked by how small last years uniform is or all of the above? (Team "at last, a break from the bickering" here........)

Library sessions still running in all our usual venues, list here for reference and fuller details in the facebook events tab. Ask anything you like in the comments and stop by for all your fit check needs, there are no stupid questions and we can probably get you comfier!

Consults available Tues-Sat for one-to-one help, and 4T course starts again from next Monday.
If you are expecting soon or have a newborn baby get signed up - theres even a full Zoom option for non Sheffield folks 🤗

Back carrying - have you tried it yet?

We've had a couple of fabulous consults this week helping parents get to grips with this skill, and its a good reminder that we sometimes forget to shout about how good it can be!

We love snuggling our newborns close to our chests, but once they get older, taller, stronger and heavier......

- We love how back carrying loads the weight
- We love being able to see our feet!
- We love giving them a new view on the world
- We love listening to our "chatty backpack" chattering in our ears!

We've been sneaking a couple if extra options into the library recently!

Mesh carriers have been (predictably) popular this summer, so we've added an extra minimonkey Baby carrier to our hire stock (love the magnetic buckles!) and this one is already being enjoyed by one of our families 🤗

We've also added a Toddler (6m+) size, still exploring how this one adapts to a range of people/babies, but a couple of our volunteers have had a go already and so far we like it a lot!

How are the summer holidays treating everybody?

Tomorrow we have our final July drop-in session at Norfolk Park (find us in the shade somewhere close to the cafe/playgrounds) with a big old pile of woven wraps, ring slings and meh dais, so come and have a play!

Can't quite believe that after that it's August already (they'll be back to school before we know it 😭) so we've also got our monthly Saturday session coming up this weekend.

Please note that the August Hillsborough session is in the park; our usual hosts RivelinCo have a pre-existing booking to honour, so we are embracing the summer and heading outdoors. All other sessions unchanged at our usual venues!

Hires and consultations available as usual throughout the summer holidays, so whether you are just getting started, learning to back carry or ready to move onto the next size or style of carrier for you, book in to see how we can help!

Dates and bookings are now open for the autumn blocks of our 4th Trimester course and the 5T course for older babies, so grab your spot now if you'd like to get involved.
