Well guys, this is it. I have decided to close Ignition Training Centre at the end of February. What was supposed to be a short 12 month project to support the unemployed turned into our flagship program still going 9 years later.

It truly hasn't been an easy ride, dealing with floods, burglary, moving 6 times, Covid and a fire that devastated everything.

But nothing can stop a stubborn man and a determined team. I was determined that when we did close, it would be on our terms.

I have other projects to start before I am done so Citadel will remain open and be the catalyst for launching them.

I would like to thank everyone who supported us over the years, all the funders, and the lifetime friends we made.

I would also like to thank the teams we had in place and most importantly, the trainees who passed their qualifications, found work and have now moved onto bigger and better things.

If any social enterprise needs any furniture, filing cabinets etc please contact us and we will be pleased to help.

We are part of the ‘Citadel Associates’ Group, a Community Employment and Training Provider which has been located in Doncaster since 2008 and Sheffield since 2020. Ignition operates to give our learners skills, qualifications, something on their CV and confidence and our qualified mechanics with over 25 years’ experience in the trade. As a ‘Community Sector’ Company we will also be using the service to train and support the next generation of mechanics through delivery of practical accredited skills development opportunities for local people to gain skills for future employment in the motor industry.
