For Parents - What is LooksMaxxing?
With the concerns of toxic masculinity and misogynistic attitudes increasing, parents should be aware of related behaviours.

Looksmaxxing isn't specifically related to misogynistic attitudes, but it can be related to masculinity, where young people are influenced to be 'more masculine' by being fitter and having bigger muscles. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, plenty of young people refer to looksmaxxing as leading a good lifestyle and being healthy (known as softmaxxing), but there can be other sides to this as well such as taking steroids or cosmetic surgery (known as hardmaxxing). There can also be mental health concerns such as social comparison, anxiety and self-esteem.

For Parents - YouTube Kids
Did you know that there is a feature that has been within YouTube Kids for years called 'Parent Allowlisting'. This does a number of things, but one of the most important and useful is that parents can keep their younger children within the safer environment of the Kids app, and parents can approve individual videos from the main YouTube service to that particular child's YouTube Kids account. This keeps younger children away from the dreaded recommender algorithms and allows parents to moderate what their children can or cannot see.

Oughtibridge Primary School May Fair - Volunteer Sign Up

SOS are pleased to announce the return of the May Fair! After another huge success last year - we are getting set to do it again!!

As always we need our school community support to make it a success, so please sign up .
Please sign up below. Only complete the form if you are committing to the date Saturday May 16th 2026. Within the form you can specify the times you are available but we need to cover set up (starting at Noon) the Fair itself 1-4pm and then the clean up (finishing around 5pm).

Our Y5 Aquafest swimmers performed incredibly at Ponds Forge last week, and helped Oughtibridge become heat champions for the second consecutive year! They will now advance to represent Sheffield later in the year. Well done!
