Off-Road Bikes: Help Us Identify Hotspots

South Yorkshire Police are continuing to take a zero-tolerance approach to off-road bikes being used illegally and causing anti-social behaviour in our communities. If you are affected by nuisance bikes, your information can help identify hotspots and guide enforcement activity.

If you see off-road bikes being used illegally, please report it. Information about where bikes are being ridden, stored, repaired or refuelled can help build a clearer picture of local issues.

Use the QR code on the poster to report incidents online, or contact South Yorkshire Police via 101 or click the link below:

Your reports help ensure resources are directed to the areas where they are most needed.

Pre-election Rules on Publicity (PERP) are currently in place. These rules stay in place until polls close at the by-election for Walkley on 17 September.

During this time, we must follow the Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity (2011).

This helps us keep our social media channels politically neutral. While PERP is in place, we will remove all political comments. This includes comments about political parties, candidates, or political issues.

THANK YOU THURSDAY: Today, we’re sharing a thank you message from a member of the public who's best friend sadly passed away, and needed some advice from our Fi****ms Licensing team on the removal of fi****ms from his home.

Thank you so much for sending this in to us, we really do appreciate your kind words. We'd also like to say a big thank you to Mary from the team for the advice and help she provided during such a difficult time 💙

Dark Nights Funding Applications Now Open

Do you run a community group, charity, social enterprise or voluntary organisation in Burngreave, Firth Park, Shiregreen & Brightside or Southey?

The North East Local Area Committee is inviting applications for funding to deliver positive activities during the Dark Nights period between Halloween and Bonfire Night.

We're looking for free activities for young people aged 8-18 that help provide safe, enjoyable alternatives and reduce anti-social behaviour in our communities.

Activities should: • Be free to attend
• Include refreshments
• Benefit young people aged 8-18
• Take place in one of the North East wards
• Run during the Dark Nights period

Application deadline: Friday 25 September, 1pm

For an application form or further information, please email [email protected].

Let's work together to make this year's Dark Nights period safer, more enjoyable and full of positive opportunities for local young people.

Join the North East Sheffield Community WhatsApp Group!

Our North East Sheffield Community WhatsApp Group shares information relevant to residents in Burngreave, Firth Park, Shiregreen & Brightside, and Southey

We know we've been a little quiet recently, but we're looking to share information and updates much more regularly going forward.

Our first topic over the next two weeks will be Safer Parking, as schools prepare to reopen. We'll be sharing information about considerate parking, keeping school routes safe, reporting parking concerns, and how we can all help make our neighbourhoods safer for children, families and other road users. Tackling poor and dangerous parking is one of the priorities identified by local residents.

To join the WhatsApp group, click the link below:

Please note that this is an information-sharing group managed by Sheffield City Council. Residents are expected to engage respectfully and in line with the group's rules.
