🎒 Back to School Support for Families
As children across Sheffield, Rotherham and Chesterfield prepare to head back to the classroom, we know the start of a new school year can put extra pressure on household budgets.
If you need a little extra support, there are organisations across our communities that may be able to help with:
✅ School uniform exchange schemes - These can be found in local Facebook area groups, as well as local charity shops and occasionally directly through the school itself.
✅ School grants and financial support - Organisations such as https://www.turn2us.org.uk/get-support/information-for-your-situation/bringing-up-a-child/back-to-school-support OR https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/family/education/help-with-school-costs/ may be able to help.
✅ Free school meals eligibility checks - https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals
✅ Local community groups and charities offering practical help - These can be found in local Facebook area groups, as well as local charity shops and occasionally directly through the school itself.
No family should feel they have to face the back-to-school rush alone. A range of support is available locally to help make the transition into the new school year a little easier.
