Ecclesfield & Shiregreen NPT

Last night officers spotted (despite the fact it was dark and the rider didn’t have any lights) an E – Bike riding quicker than it should be so signalled for it to a stop.

The rider fancied his chances of getting away so went off down an alley way.

Unfortunately for him, the officers local knowledge meant the could cut him off at the other end and detained him.

Examination of the bike showed it was able to travel at nearly 55MPH some 40MPH over the legal limit.

These bikes are illegal and dangerous and should not be ridden on the road or public spaces.

The bike was seized and the rider faces large fines and penalty points for riding it without a licence or insurance.

Did you see our Off Road Bike team out on Sunday?

On Sunday we joined forces with the SYP Motorcycle and Rural Crime Team tackle vehicle nuisance in the areas most affected by this illegal activity.

Alongside the residential areas we patroled the green spaces including

🌳 Smithy Woods
🌳 Chapeltown Park
🌳 Westwood Country Park
🌳 Trans Pennine Trail
🌳 Hartley Brook
🌳 Concord and Woolley Woods

As a result of this activity 2 vehicles were seized and drivers reported to court for various motoring offences.

A further male was reports to court for driving without insurance

And another male in his 30’s was arrested for drug driving and later charged for failing to provide a sample for analysis.

CHILLING IN THE FRIDGE! Wanted Male Caught hiding in the fridge
Talk about giving the police the cold shoulder . . .
Yesterday officers from the Burngreave Neighbourhood team paid a visit to an address in Burngreave as part of a drugs warrant.
When officers arrived a males voice was heard through the door. Upon entering the address, the male was nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately for him, our team has a sixth sense for these things. After a thorough search of the property, officers noticed something a bit fishy in the kitchen.
Upon opening the fridge door, officers didn’t find yesterday's leftovers. Instead, they found a wanted male, crammed inside the fridge, attempting to blend in with the mayonnaise and the cheese!
We have to give him points for creativity, but unfortunately for him, hiding next to the salad drawer doesn’t freeze your legal obligations. It turns out he wasn't cool enough to evade the long arm of the law.
The male was swiftly arrested, defrosted, and transported to Shepcote Lane custody suite, where the temperature is much more appropriate.
Was wanted on an outstanding court warrant and will appear at Sheffield Magistrate’s court today.

More vehicles removed from the streets of High Green following there illegal use.

In both circumstances the drivers failed to obtain a full licence as such were also driving without a licence.

Both have been reported to the courts and face penalty points and fine.

Vehicles recovered and will be sent to the crusher if their owners don’t obtain the legal requirements to drive them.

Bike thief in deep water!!!!

Officers spotted a male wearing a Balaclava driving a motor bike with no registration plate attempting to enter a Petrol Station (right next to the Police station)

When officers parked behind the vehicle, the male attempted to make good his escape, however did not manage to start his bike again, subsequently falling off it.

The male then attempted to flee on foot , only to end up in the nearby stream before being arrested by officers.

The reason he ran - the bike he was riding was stolen!

Male arrested for theft of motor vehicle & driving whilst under the influence of drugs.

He has since bene bailed for further enquiries to be conducted.

Parson Cross Neighbourhood Team

Officers from the Parson Cross team continue to tackle illegal and anti-social vehicle use in the area.

Officers were out on patrol when they came across 2 motorbikes that were being ridden antisocially and illegally. The riders quickly made off and dumped these bikes, which are in fact stolen, so the bikes have been seized, and officers are progressing the investigations.

The below vehicle was also being driven antisocially, therefore officers seized this under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002.

We receive daily reports of illegal and anti-social vehicles which are causing issues in the community, if anyone has any information about this, please contact 101, report online via our website or anonymously via crimestopppers, so we can seize them!!

This morning the team executed a warrant in the Wincobank area alongside Enforcement Officers from the Home Office following concerns that the property was being used to grow cannabis.

Inside the address cannabis plants with the street value of over £250,000 were located and seized.

Enquires are ongoing to locate those responsible. 🎥 👮 🧬 🔬

UPDATE: Continued police presence in Page Hall following disorder

Following the recent disorder in Page Hall which occurred earlier this week on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 August, there will be a continued police presence in the area over the course of the weekend.

Two people have since been charged in connection with the incident, and officers seized 50 weapons during an operation in the area.

Bartolomej Mizigar, 38, of Hinde Street, Sheffield, and Jan Mizigar, 21, of Chequer Avenue, Doncaster, who were charged with attempted murder and violent disorder made their first appearance before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court yesterday (7 August).

They have been remanded in custody ahead of their next hearing before Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 4 September.

Officers will be visible in the area and carrying out further patrols over the weekend. If you see them, please do not be alarmed as they are there to help keep the community safe.
