On Sunday, we are looking forward to welcoming the fifth and final stage of the Women’s Tour of Britain – a cycling race due to start and finish in Leamington Spa, outside the Warwickshire Justice Centre.

The roads in South Warwickshire on Sunday 23 August may be affected by the race, so please bear this in mind when you are planning your journeys.

The route will take the cyclists up towards Kenilworth before heading across and down towards Southam.

It will then go down to Shipston-on-Stour, before routing north through Wellesbourne and back into Leamington Spa, where it will finish outside the Warwickshire Justice Centre.

This afternoon you’ll find PCSO Brooks and PCSO Read at Tysoe Flower Show 🌸🚓

As another year of summer fetes comes to an end, it’s been lovely meeting so many of you along the way. We’ve enjoyed chatting with local residents, offering crime prevention advice, and listening to your concerns. Not forgetting the children who have certainly made the most of the Police car selfies… although we’re beginning to suspect a few adults are just as excited 😂🤥

So, if you’re at Tysoe Flower Show this afternoon, come and say hello!

A little reminder from us during this lovely British heatwave ☀️

Please spare a thought for emergency services, posties, gardeners, delivery drivers, road workers and everyone else out working in this heat. Sometimes you just need to spend your break in the air conditioned car with an ice cream🍦

On a serious note, please keep an eye on vulnerable people, neighbours and animals who may be struggling in the heat. You may have also received an alert this evening advising that there is a very high risk of wildfires nationally. Please do not undertake any activity that could start a fire, such as disposable barbecues, firepits, fireworks, flicking ci******es from car windows, etc..

Thankfully, it does look like the Great British summer is nearly over… Which means it's almost time to start complaining about the rain, wind and cold instead 🌧️

No two weekends are ever the same. Here is a little snippet of what has kept PCSO Brooks and PCSO Brown busy in between their planned meetings, visits and call outs.. 🚓

🚨 Conducted foot and mobile patrols, including visits to ASB hotspot areas

🎖️ PCSO Brown attended the Low Furlong Veterans event hosted by the Royal British Legion

🎶 Enjoyed the live music, and for once resisted buying an ice cream, at Shipston Fish N Frolics festival

🚗 Popped by Low Furlong Nursing Home for their classic car event

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello. Whether it was sharing local concerns or having a friendly chat, it's always a pleasure to meet new faces and catch up with familiar ones

🚨 Update 22/7: Reunited!

Thank you to the member of public who found Leo after his speedy getaway, and handed him in to Shipston Vets 🐢

PCSO Brown has some breaking news, we have an escapee! If you’ve seen anything, heard anything please let us know as soon as possible (This is not a hoax, a genuine concern has been raised). Leo, the Tortoise, (Yes, Tortoise) was last seen Friday 9th July, mid-afternoon near Idlicote, Shipston-on-Stour.

One minute he was there, and the next minute he was gone. Apparently, this tortoise is like no other, he is a repeat offender, he seems to want to take absence without leave and venture out on a foot patrol! (Cannot blame him!) And, he is quick on his feet, he does get a few miles on the clock, he would beat the Hare at his race any day, faster than you can say Cowabunga!

On a serious note, if you have spotted a determined little shell-on-legs wandering around, please let us know. The weather is hot! Please check your gardens, under bushes, sheds, and sunny spots. If you see him, please do not chase him, we would like to re-unite him with his rightful owner and make sure he is safe and sound.

NB. We are sharing this information on behalf of a concerned owner; we are still out and about doing our police work as usual. Thank you.

After a busy morning, PCSO Brooks and PCSO Brown took a stroll through Shipston town to the Shipston Lodge Nursing Home fete 👣

We spent time chatting with the staff and residents at Shipston Lodge, catching up with members of the public, and saying hello to all the stall holders

It was baa-rilliant to see so many people out enjoying the sunshine and the entertainment… Although a few suspects were looking a little sheepish 🐑🦆🐢

🚨 Don't Make It Easy For Vehicle Thieves 🚗

A few simple steps can help protect your vehicle:

🔒 Always lock it, even if you're only popping away for a minute

👜 Remove valuables and keep them out of sight

🔑 Keep keys away from doors and windows, and use a faraday pouch or similar for keyless vehicles

💡 A tracker, ghost immobiliser, and steering wheel lock are just a couple of ideas to give your car multiple layers of security

Stolen vehicles aren't always taken far, they can be left in abandoned in fields, country lanes, lay-bys or even car parks (images below are from a stolen vehicle recovered today by Shipston SNT)

If you spot a vehicle that seems out of place or has been left in suspicious circumstances, please report it to the police on 101 (999 if an emergency) or complete an online form
