Bring your favourite book, get the treats ready and lay out a blanket!

On Friday 3rd July 2026, schools across North Tyneside and beyond will come together for our second Summer Book-nic - a reading picnic and activities in your school to celebrate and promote reading for pleasure.

All of our resources are FREE, so anyone can host a Book-nic in their school. Spread the word and share the joys of reading with pupils, teachers, parents and the wider community.
