Join retired archivist Penny Ward for a free Spotlight Talk on Saturday August 29th.

Penny will be talking about the “Out-Relief” Investigations 1818 -1819 : A modest notebook in Shropshire Archives which provides a rare glimpse into the lives of the people of the Flaxmill and their neighbours.

Our special Skyscraper Day Jubilee Towers are very nearly full. If you have a ticket and are unable to come, please return your ticket so that someone else can have a chance to enjoy the tour

Celebrate Skyscraper Day by claiming the Jubilee Tower to see the views from the very top of the site, one of the highest vantage points in Shrewsbury.

Tours will be free for children and EH members. A special offer for the days.

We're celebrating Skyscraper Day, 3 September, at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, the first iron-framed building in the world, the grandparent of the modern skyscraper!

We're celebrating Skyscraper Day! 3 September.

On days leading up to 3 September and on the day itself we are inviting visitors to a special offer to go to the top of the first iron-framed building in the world – the grandparent of the skyscraper. Children and English Heritage members will be going free.

Climb the wooden stairs of the Jubilee Tower to one of the highest vantage points in Shrewsbury. See the town of Shrewsbury, Shropshire and beyond!

If you do not have a head for heights, you can also celebrate Skyscraper Day by enjoying the launch of the Flaxmill Café’s afternoon teas. Enjoy special treats inside the grandparent of the modern skyscraper!

Halfway through our free summer activities. Two more weeks to go! 🌞🎨🖌

Artist Sarah Evans and story-telling Jake Evans will be here for the next two Wednesdays , alongside a book trail with Debbie Robinson of Words and Me.

Also, on Thursdays and Fridays, you can join us for a summer of bunting making.

All sessions are free drop-in.
