Last week, our Prevention Team welcomed home-educated children to a Home Education Fire Safety Session at our Telford Station. 🚒

👨🏾‍🚒The session covered a range of important fire safety topics, including creating a home escape plan, smoke alarm safety, and what to do if your clothes catch fire using the Stop, Drop and Roll technique. Children also had the opportunity to meet firefighters from Green Watch and take a look around a fire engine.

These sessions are designed to help home-educated children aged 7-11 develop essential fire safety knowledge and skills in a fun and engaging way. If you are interested in attending one of our future Home Education sessions, please contact [email protected] for more information.✅

🤩It was great to receive some positive feedback from the day - We had the best time, it was very informative and fun. we definitely learnt lots about how to keep safe if there is a fire and also what risks to look out for at home. We've received fantastic feedback about our Year 3 education programme...

“We would like to express our sincere thanks to the officers from the Shropshire Fire Service who visited our school. Their professionalism throughout the session was outstanding. They were engaging, approachable, and took the time to patiently answer every question the children asked, helping to make the experience both educational and enjoyable.

The officers were a true credit to their profession, demonstrating kindness, thoughtfulness, and a great sense of humour. Their positive attitude and enthusiasm captured the children's interest from start to finish and helped them understand the important role the fire service plays in keeping our community safe. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and the quality of the professionals delivering the session made it an especially memorable experience. They were excellent role models and left a lasting impression on everyone involved.”
