Free School Meals are expanding β and this could mean much more than a free lunch.
From the start of this term, eligibility for Free School Meals in England is expanding to include all children in families receiving Universal Credit.
Around 500,000 additional children are expected to qualify.
But thereβs another important impact.
For some families who arenβt currently claiming Universal Credit, the expanded Free School Meals entitlement could provide another reason to check whether they are missing out on support theyβre entitled to.
