How many people does it take to relocate a Post Office? Today we counted 16 people at one point in our new premises: a Post Office Ltd project manager, a builder, a man installing electroninc weighing scales, a man installing the alarm systems, two Openreach men installing WiFi, an electrician, a man installing greeting card displays, a lady setting up some gift wrap displays, three people fitting locks to cabinets, our landlord, our lovely Laura, as well as Matthew and Sarah doing everything else!!! It's fair to say we are are exhausted but we're still really excited, and thank you to Shrivenham Methodist Church for supplying us all with cakes 🧁🍰. Roll on Monday morning 22nd June at 10 am when we reopen!

Amongst the stress and chaos of moving our Post Office to new premises, we have some good news to share. So many customers regularly ask about our sons who have been involved with our Post Office since they were very little. This morning, our eldest son, William, found out that he's passed his degree with flying colours in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from Oxford Brookes University. He's already started his first job at the beautiful Malmaison Hotel in Oxford. If you're passing there he says please pop in and say hello to him. Both William and Oliver will be around in our new Post Office on our opening morning next Monday 22nd June to welcome customers 😊

Our new signage is up and is looking fantastic, but there is still lots to do inside our new premises. Our staff have worked their socks off this week and they will no doubt do the same next week too. They all helped put some new signs up yesterday afternoon. Then later we celebrated the end of a busy first week of moving premises with team drinks followed by a meal in the Gulshan. As a reminder we reopen in our new premises at 56 High Street at 10am a week Monday, 22nd June. Please feel free to share. Thank you 😊

Its the end of an era! After running Shrivenham Post Office for over 16 years Matthew, Sarah and their team have closed the door to customers for one last time at 32 High Street, Shrivenham. It's sad to leave our cosy little shop and we've had some great times there, but we are super excited about moving to our new premises at 56 High Street, Shrivenham (between the Co-op and the Hub). The new premises will provide more space, a better experience for our customers and our staff, and thanks to our incredibly supportive landlords of J.Knapp & Sons Limited, will secure the future of Shrivenham Post Office for our community for many years to come. We will be incredibly busy over the next two weeks and you may see us moving units and stock up the road. Please do stop and say hello and we look forward to welcoming you in our new Post Office from 10am on Monday 22nd June πŸ˜€

Whilst Matthew, Paul, Helen, Laura and Tamami have been dealing with safe and alarm companies for our move, and William and Oliver have been helping move shop units, Sarah is still volunteering with the Swindon Stroke Support Group. Today they have enjoyed laser pistol shooting and Across the World Table Top Golf. Jenga was taken particularly seriously!!! πŸ˜ƒ Don't forget to collect any parcels from us tomorrow morning otherwise they will be returned to sender. We close tomorrow at 5.30pm until we reopen in our lovely new premises at 10am on Monday 22nd June 😁

It's Volunteers Week 2026 and we want to thank our staff for covering Sarah so that she can spend this week volunteering with the Swindon Stroke Support Group on their annual holiday. The timing could have been better with the imminent move of our Post Office to new premises, but Sarah is committed to helping this local charity which provides social care to survivors of Stroke, their families and carers. Many of our customers know that this charity is so close to our hearts. There is no way Sarah and her family would let the Group's members down. So far this week they've done boules, rifle shooting, archery and a nature walk. If you can spare the time, why not give volunteering a go? It helps others, brings communities together and is so rewarding. But Sarah couldn't do this work without the amazing support from her husband and Postmaster Matthew, their sons and our incredible staff πŸ™‚

A gentle reminder - if you have had parcels delivered by any courier to Shrivenham Post Office for collection, then please collect your parcels by Thursday morning. We are closing our premises to the public at 5.30pm for just over two weeks whilst we relocate to our new location at 56 High Street Shrivenham. On Thursday this week, any uncollected parcels will be returned to sender with the relevant couriers as we cannot hold customers parcels whilst we are closed. Please share as we wouldn't like anyone to disappointed.
Many thanks as always for you help and support πŸ™‚
