Meeting of Sidmouth Town Council’s Planning Committee to be held on Wednesday 13 May 2026 at 10.00am

Meeting to be held in the Council Chamber, Woolcombe House, Woolcombe Lane, Sidmouth.

It is proposed that the matters set out on the agenda below will be considered at the meeting and resolution or resolutions passed as the Council considers appropriate.

The Chair of the meeting has the right and discretion to control questions to avoid disruption, repetition and to make best use of the meeting time. Individual contributions will be limited to a maximum period of three minutes. Where there is an interested group of objectors or supporters, a spokesperson should be appointed to speak on behalf of the group.

Today, FRIDAY, Bumps & Babies and Rise Up & Sing Paperless Choir are at Primley URC, Friends of The Knowle are meeting, Bounce & Rhyme and a Cake & Coffee Morning VE Day Singalong are in the Library, and there's a Pop-up Exhibition 'May Be' at Kennaway House and a talk on 'Planting For Natural Flood Management' as part of Tree Week.

On SATURDAY, The Sid Valley Ring Half & Third Marathon will be running up through The Byes, Sidmouth Lions Great Book Sale is at St Teresa's Hall, Sidbury Art Group have an Exhibition and Sale of Paintings at The Village Hall, Sidbury Mill is open as part of National Mills Weekend, Sid Vale Carnival Club have a Jumble Sale at Sidford Social Hall, Sidmouth CC 2nd XI play Exmouth CC- 2nd XI at The Fortfield and Sidbury CC-1st XI play Newton Tracey CC- 1st XI at The Millfield.

Sidbury Mill is open again on SUNDAY, Tea Dance is at Stowford, and a Free Concert by the renowned Gresley Male Voice Choir together with the Resonate Male Voice Choir from Exeter will be held at The Parish Church from 3pm.

Community Café is at Sidford on MONDAY, Central Town Guided Walk leaves the Museum at 10.30am, and Andy's Man Club is at The Library from 7pm.

On TUESDAY, Coffee, Chat & Play is at Sidbury, Sidmouth Model Railway Group are at Sidford, Bimble & Brew leave the Seafront at 9.30am, there's a Family Drop in Group at Sidmouth RFC Sidford Pavilion, and, weather permitting, Sidmouth Steppers will be dancing on the Esplanade from 7pm.

The Farmer's Market at Kennaway is on the lawn on WEDNESDAY, Walk & Talk meet at the Toll House, there's a Guided Geology Walk from the Museum, a Home Education Science Session and German Conversation Class at The Library, the SVA Talk by Colin Boynton is on Sidmouth's Geology, and Sidford WI Monthly Meeting will be the AGM.

On THURSDAY, The Guided Walk from the Museum is to Eastern Town, the Old School Community Café is at All Saints Church, Kennaway House Book Club is at 2.30pm, Messy Church is at St Francis Hall, and Norman Lockyer Observatory is open form 7.30pm.

On SATURDAY, Breakfast is available at Sidford Methodist Church, Sidmouth Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club are at The Balfour, Kennaway House have a Craft Fair and May Day Celebrations, there are Boardgames at The Library, Sidmouth Arboretum have 15 Open Gardens over the weekend including the Sidmouth Community Food Forest Garden, there's a Coffee Morning at Sidmouth Parish Church, Cricket at The Fortfield, and Sidmouth Town 2nd play Upottery 1st at 3pm.

Noise action week runs from Monday 11th May to Friday 15th May 2026.

EDDC Environmental Health Team invite you to come and chat with the team, learn how we investigate noise complaints, demonstrate the noise recording equipment we use and give advice and support. The sessions are open to everyone, including residents .

The two sessions will be running in the Otter Room at Blackdown House, Honiton on:

Tuesday 12th May between 10:00 – 13:00
and
Thursday 14th May between 13:00 and 16:00

Anyone willing to help for two hours please contact councillor Paul Dodds at [email protected]. We will be working in Yarde Hill Orchard, Newlands Close, Manstone Lane, Woolbrook Park, Balfours, Hillside Road, Redwood Road, Brook Lane, Lower Brook Meadow, Castle Hill View, Greenhead, Furzehill and others.

Pothole Posses are volunteers authorised to repair holes on minor Roads. In the past year we have repaired 437 potholes in Sidmouth.

On SATURDAY, The Rangers have a Fundraising Bake Sale at Sidmouth Library, there are also Boardgames at The Library, Devon RFU Colts Final is being held at The Blackmore, Sidmouth Town 1st play Street FC 1st at Sidmouth Town AFC, ISCA Ensemble have a Concert at Sidmouth Parish Church, and Sidmouth Jazz Club is at Kennaway House Cellar Bar.

On SUNDAY, Junior Rugby Taster Sessions are at Sidford, and Sidmouth Film Society are showing Jean de Florette at The Radway.

On MONDAY, Community Cafe is at Sidford, St Francis Toddlers are at St Francis Hall from 1pm, Sidmouth & Honiton Stamp Club have visiting speaker Roger Mazillius with “Devon Postal History”, and Andy's Man Club is at Sidmouth Library.

On SATURDAY, Sidmouth in Bloom are Sunflower Planting at The Library, Sid Vale Carnival Club have a Jumble Sale at Sidford Hall, the Croquet Club have a Taster Afternoon, Sidmouth Rugby first team play Devonport Services at The Blackmore, and Sidmouth Town 1st play Shepton Mallet 1st at Sidmouth Town AFC.

Sidmouth Rugby Junior Taster Sessions continue on SUNDAY, and the Exe to Axe Runners will be coming through Sidmouth along the sea front.
