Sidmouth Regatta Airshow: Urgent appeal for collectors
Sidmouth Town Council earlier this year confirmed the exciting line-up for the hugely popular annual Sidmouth Regatta Airshow which this year returns on Friday 28 August 2026 as part of the Regatta weekend. Organisers are now appealing for volunteer collectors to help collect donations towards the show and secure the event for 2027.
Collectors are a vital part of the Airshow Team, helping to support and fund this annual event. With overheads such as insurance, security, infrastructure and required counter-terrorism measures continuing to rise, bringing such events to Sidmouth remains challenging. Sidmouth Town Councillors have committed to do so but with events such as the Bournemouth Air Festival being cancelled, Sidmouth is fortunate to have such an event which can be enjoyed by thousands of residents and visitors.
If anyone is able to offer help to be part of the collections team or count later in the evening, please contact Sidmouth Town Council at [email protected] and the organising team will then be in touch. Volunteers are needed from 4pm across the seafront, Salcombe and Peak Hills and Connaught Gardens where donations will be taken through buckets and contactless payment. As a collector, you will still be able to watch the display. Without enough volunteers, the financial future of the show for 2027 is put at risk.
Details will be publicised closer to the show. Keep an eye out for future details on the participating teams and other Regatta information at www.sidmouth.gov.uk www.visitsidmouth.gov.uk, and Facebook for up to the minute details, timings and other announcements on the event
