Children's Christmas Crafts at Swale Libraries🎄⛄️

Come along to Swale Libraries over the winter break and make something festive with us!

❄️ Saturday 14 December: Minster-in-Sheppey Library, 11am-12 noon
❄️ Monday 23 December: Sittingbourne Library, 11am-12 noon
❄️ Monday 23 December: Sheerness Library, 10am-11.30am

These events are suitable for children and their families. Please note that for the Sheerness Library session booking is essential, as spaces are limited.

Of all the volunteering roles we share here on Facebook, this has to be one of the most random ones we've seen. Criterion Blue Town recently advertised for a Chief Scorpion Wrangler to keep an eye on the colony of tiny scorpions living in the walls at Sheerness Dockyard. They had such an amazing response and even made the BBC news! Read their post below for more information:

Could you spare a couple of hours a week to meet and greet families at a clinic in Sittingbourne?
Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust have a volunteering opportunity at their Appleyard Child Health Clinic, helping their Public Health Nurses and Health Visiting Team, on Mondays from 1.15 to 3.30pm.
You will be welcoming families with babies and children to the town’s Healthy Child Clinic, on the Avenue of Remembrance, where they come for advice, information and support on their child's health and development.
Giving just a little of your time can make a huge difference to the people who use their services – and you. Membership community and UK charity, NCVO reports 93% of volunteers rate enjoyment as the top benefit, with making a difference a close second.
