We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to Martin from Skellow Post Office and General Store ❤️

After the sad closure of the post office, Martin has kindly donated lots of stock to us. These generous donations will go a long way in supporting our community events, food bank, and community pantry, helping local people when they need it most.

Your kindness and thoughtfulness, Martin, will make a real difference to so many – we are truly grateful 🙏💙

Today has been our last day and we are now permanently closed.

Thank you to all our customers past and present for all your support over the years.

It has been a pleasure serving the community and we will miss being part of it.

We would also like to thank all the staff that have worked for us over the last 16 years.

I have five card racks for sale. They all hang from slat wall.

The first has a wooden plinth and is 203cm high by 124cm wide. It has 16 rows and each would hold 8 c50 cards. Price £120 ono.

The 2nd and 3rd also attach to slatwall or shelving and are 100cm wide and 110cm high with a depth of 40cm. These have 12 rows and each hold 7 C50 cards. Price is £90 each ono

The forth is 100cm wide and 117cm high with depth of 43cm. It has 11 rows and each row holds 7 C50 cards. One of the rows is damaged and has been taped together but it will hold cards. Due to this price is £40 ono.

The fifth is a collapsible card stand that is 145cm high and 62cm deep. The depth is 57cm. It has 11 rows and will hold 5 C50 cards per row. Price is £75 Ono.

📮 Important Community Update: Skellow Post Office Closure

I’ve been informed that Skellow Post Office will be closing on Tuesday, 26th August 2025 at 12:30pm.

This is deeply concerning news. When I visited the branch last year and spoke with the Postmaster, it was clear just how vital this Post Office is to the daily lives of local residents, especially those who rely on it for essential services.

I’ve written to the Post Office to express my strong concerns about the closure and to highlight just how important this service is to our community.

The Post Office has assured me that they are working to minimise the period of closure and are currently exploring options to reinstate a local service as soon as possible. I will continue to press for updates and will keep you informed as soon as I hear more.
