Another great night at NPT Youth Service LGBTQ+ Youth Group! It was lovely to welcome so many new faces, so we took time to revisit and agree our group ground rules together, helping everyone feel safe, respected and included.
To mark Refugee Week and this year’s Simple Acts theme, we had a courageous conversation about what it means to stand with refugees. Young people shared thoughts, asked questions and explored simple, everyday actions we can all take to show kindness, build connections and create more welcoming communities.
We also got involved in the Great Escape activity, working together, problem-solving and having lots of laughs along the way. A fun, thoughtful session that highlighted how small acts can make a big difference. Refugee Week

As part of Carers Week 2026, NPT Young Carers Service enjoyed a fantastic evening at The Riverside Golf Range, Aberdulais.
Our Young People took part in a fun-filled session combining golf and some delicious food. The group was split in two, with one half starting inside enjoying sausage and chips (thank you to the venue!), while the other headed out onto the range with Dean and Luke for a go at golf. Halfway through, the groups swapped so everyone had the chance to take part in both activities.
The young people absolutely loved learning something new—getting to grips with the clubs, practising their swing, and building confidence. Some even went back out for an extra turn!
A huge thank you to the staff at Riverside for being so welcoming. It was brilliant to see our young carers trying new experiences, learning new skills, and most importantly, having fun!

Young people from Taibach Youth Club recently created banana, orange, and pineapple smoothies using donated fruit from a local supermarket, helping to reduce food waste. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved, with young people taking pride in preparing and tasting their creations.
They also valued the opportunity to experiment with different flavour combinations, which encouraged creativity and confidence. Alongside this, the session sparked meaningful discussions about healthy eating, including the importance of consuming five portions of fruit and vegetables each day.

🧡This week is National Carers Week!
This year’s theme is all about building friendly communities – and that starts with YOU.
Every young carer deserves a space where they feel supported, understood, and included.
Our Young Carers team is here to make sure you have that community around you – a place to meet friends, take a break, and just be yourself.
If you, a family member, or someone you know is a young carer and would like more information, please contact us directly.
It's so important that young carers get the support they need.
