Older residents have their say
Slough's older residents recently had the opportunity to put their questions directly to local leaders at a Question Time event organised by Slough Older People’s Steering Group, Slough 50plus Forum, Slough CVS and the council.
The event which provided a valuable platform for older people to share their experiences, raise concerns and discuss the issues that matter most to them, from local services and health provision to community safety and wellbeing. Cllr Wal Chahal - Leader of the Council, Jonathan Price - Executive Director, People (Adults), Mike Wooldridge - Thames Valley ICB (Better Care Fund) Asma Aziz - Chief Executive, Slough CVS, and Rob Deeks MBE, Chief Executive Officer, Together As One, were among those in attendance, listening to feedback and answering questions from residents.
Events such as these help ensure the voices of older people are heard and reflected in local decision-making, while strengthening relationships between residents, community organisations and public services.
