It's an exciting match for England tonight, so let's keep things safe for everyone.

Historically, when there are major sporting events, like the World Cup, there is an increase in the number of domestic abuse incidents.

Domestic abuse comes in many forms, not just physical abuse. If you need support, contact the National Domestic Abuse helpline on 0808 2000 247 or the men's advice line on 0808 8010327.

As well as being safe in the home, please be safe on the road. Never ever drink and drive, instead think 0% and have none for the road.

A reminder on arrangements during the night-time closure on the A4 Bath Road, between its junction with Huntercombe Lane crossroads and its junction with the Huntercombe Spur roundabout.

This is from 7pm-5am each night until 1 July, with diversions in place.

Access for residents will be maintained from both the eastern and western ends of the closure, however if milling or surfacing operations are taking place they may be asked to wait or approach from the other entrance.

* Please note: Entry to Goldsworthy Way will be closed off to diverted traffic from tonight (Tues) while the works are happening, and will be resident access only.

The diversion will direct via Dover Road to get back onto Huntercombe Lane North.

*UPDATE: On investigation this morning (Tuesday) we have discovered this is being caused by a collapsed sewer main and is 2m deep.
We have informed Thames Water and the lane will remain closed until they have attended to repair.

We have had to close a lane of the London Road at the junction of Upton Court Road after a sink hole has opened up.
Though only 10 inches on the surface, the void underneath is substantially larger going around half a metre down.
We will be going out first thing in the morning (Tuesday) to investigate and repair but congestion is expected.
Once repaired, the lane will be reopened.
We apologise for the disruption caused whilst we repair this emergency.

It's hot. The water looks cool and inviting. And a teen or young person might feel invincible and like, as long as they can swim, it will all be fine.
Unfortunately that isn't always the case.
Too many young people have already died after getting into trouble in lakes, rivers and other bodies of water this summer.
In 2015, Michael Scaife died aged just 20, of cold water shock after trying to save a friend who had got into trouble in the water of the Jubilee River.
His friends and family made a video with us to help teach people about the dangers of open water.
Please show your young people this video and talk to them about avoiding open water, no matter how hot it gets and no matter how inviting it looks.

The family of Michael Scaife warn of the dangers of swimming in the Jubilee River. For more information visit Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Water Safety pag...
