Keeping your home cool during hot weather can be difficult, but these tips can help:

1️⃣ Close blinds and curtains on windows that are exposed to direct sunlight.
2️⃣ Move to the coolest part of your home.
3️⃣ Open windows (if it is safe to) when the air feels cooler outside than inside.

A cool living space is especially important for infants, older people or those with long-term health conditions.

We know many of our customers in Smith's Wood were concerned following the recent shooting.

West Midlands Police have just issued the following update:

"While our investigation continues into shots fired in Smith's Wood earlier this week, we wanted to provide some additional reassurance to local people.

"Since the incident on 15 June, our dedicated detectives have been gathering CCTV and witness statements as they investigate the exact circumstances around what happened.

"At this stage, it is believed this was a targeted attack between groups of individuals rather than anything linked to the wider community.

"Anyone who has concerns are encouraged to tell our officers who are continuing their patrols in the area this weekend.

"We are also working alongside local authority partners and community organisations to offer reassurance to the public.

"Anyone who thinks they know more about what happened or has any evidence which could help our enquiries can call 101 quoting log 313 of 15 June.

"Alternatively, you can submit video and photo evidence via our Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP).

"Visit https://mipp.police.uk/operation/20HQ23M09-PO1 to access the MIPP."
