It is somewhat disappointing that the pump track was in place just over 24 hours before damage occurred. What is more disappointing is the damage appears to have been deliberately caused by the local group of year 7 pupils who used the track between 5pm and 5.05pm on bank holiday Monday. For legal reasons we are not allowed to show the CCTV footage on social media. However the group can be clearly seen with 1 member waving the sign around after removing it.
The sign gives instructions on correct usage of the track and is a legal requirement for insurance. There is no apparent reason to have broken it off the track.
Please speak with your teenagers, especially if they are in year 7 and were with the group riding late yesterday afternoon. Should a name and apology come forward we can deal with the matter privately. Should further damage occur we will pass the footage to the authorities seeking prosecution for criminal damage and the track will be removed ahead of schedule.
It is a shame when a few individuals ruin something good for the majority.
