Boatshed Update

While work on the Henry Frederick Swan continues, our storage container is also being transformed through some excellent craftsmanship by our dedicated members, including Jim, Paul, Steve and Dave.

New, stronger flooring is now being fitted, with access steps being added by Andrew today.

It’s another great example of our members putting their skills, time and effort into improving our boatshed and helping to preserve our maritime heritage.

A big thank you to everyone involved!

An update on our Henry Frederick Swan restoration

All our members, including Keith and Dave have been doing a fantastic job on our historic lifeboats whaleback, which is now really starting to take shape.

The Henry Frederick Swan’s hull, deck, and some of the beams have also been carefully replaced by Nick, who is steadily making great progress.

All of this work is extremely intricate and time-consuming, requiring considerable skill, patience, and attention to detail, helped along in the background by Elisabete.

A huge thank you to Keith, Dave, Nick, and Elisabete for their hard work and dedication in helping to preserve this important part of our maritime heritage. ⚓

A Proud Day for Pickle

Celebrating the handover and successful launching of Pickle to the South Shields Sea Cadets, which took place on Saturday.

We are incredibly proud to have been involved in this fantastic project, originally known as Kernic.

It has been a remarkable new-build project, made possible through the dedication, skill and hard work of our members.
A special mention must go to our dedicated members Matthew and Dave, along with the many others who played their part in bringing Pickle to life.

It has been a privilege for North East Maritime Trust to be involved, and we wish the Sea Cadets many happy and memorable times aboard Pickle. ⚓🚤

Some more hard graft going-on in our boatshed.
Here, we have work continuing with the Henry Frederick Swan. This somewhat medium-term project is being supported by National Historic Ships.
