Our carers enjoy the benefits of a well-established and supportive foster care community. We support and empower our foster carers throughout their fostering career – through our financial pa

ckage offering, ongoing training and support, plus access to expertise where required. There’s no such thing as a typical foster carer – they are as different as the children they care for. We want to help our foster carers be the best carers possible and to give South Tyneside's children the best start in life. We are always happy to talk and meet with people who have an interest in foster caring to help you decide if it is the right choice for you.

One of our Mockingbird constellations came together last week for their regular support group. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for foster carers to connect, share experiences, and support one another in a safe and welcoming environment.

Our Fourth Mockingbird Constellation met up over the weekend and enjoyed a fun afternoon at the trampoline park. This was followed by lovely food and a chance for our families to catch up together.

Our Mockingbirds meet regularly to support one another and act much like an extended family would. Any newly approved carer will have the opportunity to join one of our successful mockingbirds and have the full support of a constellation in South Tyneside.

What a great time our 1st Mockingbird Constellation had this weekend!
Everyone enjoyed a lovely day out in South Shields—having fun at the skatepark and completing challenges on the obstacle course.
The day was perfectly rounded off with fish and chips and ice creams—well deserved after all their activities! 🍟🍦
We hope everyone had an amazing time— Thank you Becky and Richard for arranging this for our fostering families.

We’re excited to be returning to Pride in Hebburn for the second year running—and we’d love for you to come along!

There’ll be plenty to enjoy throughout the day, including a range of stalls, fun crafts, and fantastic entertainment for all ages.

Our fostering team will be there from 11am and ready to chat—so if you’ve ever thought about fostering or simply want to find out more, come and have a chat with our friendly staff.

Last night members of the fostering team along with our Carer Alison had a fantastic evening attending the Love South Tyneside awards.

This is such a special event marking the dedication, kindness and community spirit across South Tyneside.

Our Foster Carer Alison was nominated in the 'Above and Beyond' category celebrating those who bring something truly special to their everyday work, making a real impact on others.

We were delighted and extremely proud that Alison was crowned winner on the night. Huge congratulations Alison....this is truly deserved recognition for the important work you do with families across South Tyneside.

Our third Mockingbird constellation had a fantastic day out at Gibside last week, making the most of the glorious weather. Families enjoyed picnics, games, and lovely strolls while exploring the beautiful grounds. We hope everyone had a wonderful time! A big thank you to Michelle for organising such a memorable day for our families.
