🎵 Calling all music loving carers 🎵

Have you got a favourite record that takes you straight back to a special time or place?

Our Connected Caring carers music group takes place on Saturday 7 November, from 10am to 12 noon, at Age Concern Tyneside South, Beach Road, in the Community Room on Floor 2.

Come along to enjoy classic vinyl tunes, share memories and spend some time with fellow carers. Music can start conversations, encourage memories to flow and create moments of joy, relaxation and connection.

Get up in the loft, dust off your records and start thinking about the songs you would love to hear. What track would get you singing along?

🎶 Music is the great connector 🎶

On Saturday 7 November between 10am and 12 Noon, we're bringing carers together for a special music group filled with classic vinyl tunes, shared memories and good company.

Music can help memories flow, lift our mood and bring people together. This session offers carers a chance to enjoy some respite, relax with fellow music fans and spend time listening to songs that have stood the test of time.

Now is the perfect time to get up in the loft and dust off those old records. Which songs would you love to hear?

Kinship Care Week (5 - 11 October 2026) is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise the incredible contribution of kinship carers.

Kinship carers are relatives or friends who step in to care for a child when their parents are unable to do so, helping children remain connected to their family, identity, roots and community.

Throughout this week, we will be holding a range of events to thank our kinship carers and acknowledge the amazing support, stability and love they provide every day.

The Town Hall will be lit up blue tomorrow (Tuesday 6 Oct) in recognition of kinship care week.

Carers Online Engagement Sessions

We know it isn't always easy to attend events in person, so we're offering virtual engagement sessions for carers who may be unable to join due to caring responsibilities, work commitments, health needs, transport, or other barriers.

These online sessions are a chance to speak directly with senior Adult Social Care staff, share your experiences, and help shape future support and services.

✅ Highlight areas for improvement
✅ Help influence future service developments
✅ Build stronger relationships with Adult Social Care
