BNI Cookson Based in South Tyneside, we work in a professional but fun environment and meet every Friday morning What is BNI Cookson? What can BNI do for your business?

BNI Cookson is a business referral networking group based in South Tyneside that began in 2005, it has generated record breaking amounts of money for its members since it began. In the 2015-16 term its members shared £1.1m and in the 2016-17 term the members generated over £1.3m. BNI only allows one professional or trade category per chapter, that means for example if you join the chapter as an ac

countant, you will remain the sole accountant for that chapter. BNI Cookson is part of the larger BNI Northumbria which has 9 chapters as of 2017 and BNI Northumbria is part of the larger BNI UK, which is part of the BNI International. BNI was founded by Dr Ivan Misner over 30 years ago in America and now has chapters in over 70 countries worldwide. Belonging to BNI is like having dozens of sales people working for you because all the other members carry copies of your card with them. When they meet someone new that could use your products or services they hand out your card and personally recommend your services.

Well it was national Steve week at BNI Cookson this week, we started things off with Steve of winning the 60 second trophy.

Then we had Steve of .financial give us a fantastic feature presentation and then Steve from Paper Voice went on to win the door prize. We don’t have a photo of that through, because Steve usually takes all of the photos.

This week we celebrated our 21st birthday and had a very special meeting that included members both in previous and current, and we even had a visit from local MP

We started with a special education slot from Laurence of Northern Star Wealth Management, Steve from won the 60 second trophy.

Lee from received a glowing testimonial from Laurence too.

During our feature presentation it was announced that our members have generated over £15 million for each other in genuine business referrals over the past 21 years.

We’d like to thank all of the members past and present as well as our BNi director consultants (Nicola, Hannah and David), Executive Directors (Linley, Craig, Alasdair and Morgan) and of course everyone who has visited the chapter since the chapter began back in 2005.
