Year 3 & 4 Music- African Drumming Workshop. This morning, Year 3 & 4 and the KS2 Base took part in an African drumming workshop with a musician called Fanuel. We were taught how to play the djembe drum and had lots of fun listening, joining in and singing songs. It was a great experience and a chance to try out a new musical instrument. Thanks Fanuel!

Last Friday, our year 5/6 cricket team took part in the South Tyneside finals at Boldon cricket club.

After playing some quality cricket in the qualification stage. The teams form continued into the finals.

Two strong wins , couple with three narrow defeats meant that unfortunately they just missed out on the medal places. Certainly a performance they can all be happy with though.

Year 3 R.E- Hindu Temple Visit. Today, year 3 visited the ISKCON Hindu Temple in Newcastle to learn more about Hindu worship and beliefs. They explored the temple and shrine, listened to music and prayers and also got the chance to experience puja. They were given the opportunity to dress in traditional Hindu outfits, listened to stories and played instruments. They learned lots and were very respectful whilst visiting such a special place of worship.

Year 3 R.E- Hindu Temple Visit. Today, year 3 visited the ISKCON Hindu Temple in Newcastle to learn more about Hindu worship and beliefs. Year 5 visited Jarrow Hall on Friday, as part of their work on the Anglo Saxons and Vikings in History. They took part in a burial and a battle reenactment and found out about Viking Gods. They looked at how the Anglo Saxons and Vikings lived off the land and enjoyed the story of Beowulf in the mead hall by firelight. 🔥
