ALL STUDENT VOTE!

This is a great first step to compensating students for the disruption they’ve faced this term. We support halls students to be issued refunds for time they didn’t spend in halls and hope the university goes further in compensating those who have had a vastly different student experience than they were promised.

Please support by voting YES in the first step to getting halls students what they deserve!

Today we have launched an All Student Vote on the following statement: "The University should offer a partial refund of halls accommodation fees to all students in University halls, to reflect the time that students have not spent in their halls because of the student travel window and the staggered return to campus in January.

Although we recognise that circumstances have been beyond the University’s control, if students have followed Government guidance they will have left halls early in December and returned late in January, so it is unfair that they should pay halls accommodation fees for that period. We believe the University should recognise this by offering a refund of accommodation fees to students."

The Southampton Coronavirus Mutual Aid group is looking for volunteers to help with their hotline! This is perfect for students who might have more time during the day or generally have a flexible work schedule to help answer these phone calls. Please get in touch with the group if this is something you would be interested in!

We're running low on people to help run our 'Isolation Hotline'. If you can spare an hour (or more) a week on a flexible basis, please get in touch. We can show you the ropes.
