We've had several queries regarding missed glass collections... Please keep reporting them to: https://www.southampton.gov.uk/bins-recycling/bins/missed-collections/

and contact Cllr Matt Renyard if there are long standing issues.

Unfortunately, due to a nationwide shortage of drivers and higher levels of staff sickness, there have been delays to some glass collections. We apologise to residents affected and recognise the inconvenience this may cause. 😔

Our collection crews are working hard to keep services running during the recent hot weather, and we have prioritised food and general waste collections as these are most vulnerable to the heat. Additional collections, including Saturday collections, are taking place to help clear any backlog and return the service to its normal schedule as quickly as possible. 🚛

Residents who have not yet had their glass collected are asked to leave their box at their usual collection point and crews will collect any outstanding material as soon as possible.

If residents would prefer not to wait, glass can also be taken to one of the bottle banks located across the city. You can find your nearest recycling bank using our online map: 🔗 https://www.southampton.gov.uk/bins-recycling/recycling/recycling-banks/
