Another legend has sadly left us recently. Tim Curry was a larger than life performer that lent his voice to over 60 audiobooks throughout his career, including many of the titles in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' by Lemony Snicket and more.

He brought several book characters to life, most notably Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 1990 adaption of Stephen King's 'It'. He wrote about his extraordinary life in his memoir 'Vagabond'.

"I find there is something very intimate about being the voice in someone's ear when they're driving." - Tim Curry

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the great Dolly Parton. Despite gaining her fame as a country music superstar, Dolly had a deep passion for encouraging literacy skills, fostering children's love for reading and giving back to the community through her extensive charity work.

“Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up, you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places.” - Dolly Parton

Ankica's is Seascraper by Benjamin Wood.

This is a beautifully atmospheric and moody book about a young man on the verge of adulthood, and working as a shanker, a trade he learned from his grandfather. His name is Thomas Flett, he hasn't seen much of the world outside his hometown and never met his father. He lives with his mother, who had him as a teenager and has been shunned by the local community. She relies on him to earn money, which he does through his unsociable, repetitive, and physically exhausting work. At heart, he is a folk musician, but it remains a private dream.

A chance to perhaps find a way out, a way forward to the music he loves, to a better life, comes along when a stranger seeks his help to film a movie. Thomas is shaken from the drudgery of his days and begins to see a different future. But how much of what the striking visitor claims is true, and how far can his inspiration carry Thomas?
