πŸ›‘οΈ Staying safer with DASH

While the best way to stay safe is to not take drugs, if someone chooses to, we want them to do so as safely as possible, using our harm reduction tips.

πŸš‘ If someone is having a bad reaction to a substance it is always better to phone for help than to leave it. If they are unconscious, put them in the recovery position. This helps to keep their airway open and reduces the risk of choking. You can watch a video demonstration of how to do this here: https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/first-aid/recovery-position/

If you want to take steps to address your drug or alcohol use, don't be afraid to reach out for help from our DASH team. To get support from DASH:
πŸͺ Drop in to our Advice Centre
🌐 Refer online at nolimitshelp.org.uk/get-support
☎️ Call 02380 224 224 (option 2)

🏫 This fortnight's school and college drop-in has been about smoking and va**ng and the effects they can have on your health.

Our team have also been at a year 8 parents evening at Woodlands to raise awareness of our services, as well as going along to Richard Taunton's welfare event to let students know about what support we can offer them. Our spin the wheel game went down a storm!

This opportunity is through the Rona Sailing Project, which runs inclusive sailing trips for young people from a range of backgrounds πŸ™Œ

πŸ’› Today's actions are about self-care and appreciation.

πŸ’† Looking after ourselves, especially in times of high stress or busy periods can make a huge difference to how we manage things. If you feel like things are getting a bit much and you need to have a break, that is okay and it's good that you recognise that.

πŸ™Œ See if you can show appreciation for someone today. It might even make their day! If you're not sure who, think about someone who has done something that made a difference to you recently, or someone that has been there for you in a challenging time.
