Please note the forthcoming road closure at Old Bridge House Road on Monday 17th August 2026 between 07.30 and 18.00 from Planned Maintenance at Hampshire Highways.

The works scheduled for Monday 10 August have had to be postponed.

The equipment is expected to become available next week and subject to confirmation, the works to remove the road plates and carry out further underground investigations are now planned for Monday 17 August. The works are expected to take one day to complete.

Old Bridge House Road will be closed to all traffic on Monday 17th August 2026 between approximately 07:30 and 18:00.

The advance warning signs will also be updated on site, and the residents will receive a further letter. We appreciate that the road closure may cause inconvenience, particularly if you have appointments to attend or require vehicular access to your property.

We hope this revised date provides sufficient notice for you to make any necessary alternative arrangements. If you have specific access requirements that we may need to consider during the works, please contact the Planned Maintenance Team at [email protected]

Aimee Hayward visited Bursledon Library on Wednesday 8th July 2026 to read an extract from her newly published picture book 'The Swinging Prince'. Despite the heat, the event was very well attended with enthusiastic questions asked by the local school children at the end of the session.

Hampshire County Council’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is open!
Please book for eligible families by Thursday 23rd July 2026.

Children and young people who receive benefits-related free school meals can book up to 16 days of schemes and enjoy a wide range of activities, make new friends, learn new skills, and receive healthy meals for free during the upcoming summer holidays.

Long Lane Play Area Vandalism Update
