Anyone had a BBQ last night down Hardley Lane?

You left your rubbish everywhere and a hot disposable BBQ on the ground.

The heat from the BBQ spread through the ground & started to set everything around it on fire.

Fortunately, the smoke was spotted by a member of the public, who called us out just as the fire started to catch the surrounding trees and bushes.

Don't worry, we picked up your rubbish for you as well. 👍

FIRE CALL 17:08 as our Ford Ranger 58M1 is mobilised, alongside multiple other stations, to a Fire in the Open Large near East Boldre.

Around 200m2 of gorse well alight on arrival and threatening to spread further into the New Forest.

Fire contained and extinguished by the combined efforts of all crews, a great achievement by all.

Last day of the Easter holidays. 58P7 & 58M1 are mobilised to a fire in the open just off Hardley Lane.

Fire cause doubtful, with several used disposable BBQs found & no natural ignition source.

4 x Jets used to bring the fire under control and fully extinguish.
