Following the response to Southend having a Lido , Our seafront, our Lido, our future, i have set up this page , so we can all work together to make it happen.

On the last bank holiday the Southend RNLI had i believe 14 call outs for people who had walked out , the tide was early morning and early evening, the beach was packed however no water to swim in.

In the 60/70's we had a Lido where we would spend a lot of time; sadly this was taken away to be used as a casino.

Over this summer we have had a lot of fatalities where people and children have drowned in open waters and lakes.

We have recently heard of North Street Swimming pool closing, we are a seaside town learning to swim is so important in many ways .

We have thousands of cold water swimmers who swim all year round, this would enable them to swim when the tide is out.

I have sent a request to SCC again to be heard at the July council meeting again, they previously didn't think there was a need , hopefully they have realised how important it would be.
