We are aware that some members of Chalkwell Lifeguards are also members of the newly formed Crowstone Canoe and Lifesaving Club.

To avoid any confusion, we would like to clarify that Chalkwell Lifeguards is not affiliated, associated, or formally linked with the Crowstone Canoe and Lifesaving Club. Any involvement with the Crowstone club is undertaken by individuals in a personal capacity and does not represent Chalkwell Lifeguards.

Chalkwell Lifeguards remains an independent organisation, affiliated with the Royal Life Saving Society, with its own governance, policies, activities, and operational responsibilities.

Chalkwell Lifeguards will be on duty tomorrow, Sunday 9th August. High tide is 09:43 with enough water to swim, paddleboard or kayak approximately 2 hours either side of this. Come and see us for any First Aid, free water refills, any questions, or just to say hello 🌊 🏊🏼‍♀️🏄🏼‍♀️ 🛶

There are lots of moon jellyfish around at the moment, these were at Chalkwell Beach this morning. The white markings can also be pink/purple 🪼

You can swim with no problem and not even notice them, but occasionally they can sting if you swim past and their tentacles brush over you, although this is usually very mild. Rinse with sea water (avoid fresh water which can make it worse) and apply a cool pack if itching or redness continues, although this is rare 🪼
