Today marks the 82nd anniversary of the .

On 16 May 1943, the brave airmen from 617 Squadron embarked on a daring mission: to breach the German dams Möhne, Eder and Sorpe.

Of the 19 crews that had set out on the raid, eight did not return. Today we remember the 53 airmen who never made it home, and honour their dedication and sacrifice for freedom.

Open Evening for perspective new cadets aged 12 upwards and their parents on Thursday 31st March from 7.30 pm at the Squadron Headquarters on Church Street, Holbeach, PE12 7LL. Followed by a taster evening for the new cadets on Friday 1 April

Tonight 10/9/21, we welcomed all our new Cadets.
Some started in June and the rest started with us today.
We did just one recruitment event and had a massive response.
We have 28 new Cadets. We look forward to many activities and the ever expanding Squadron.
Proud staff moment. All the hard work paid off.

It’s been a long time since we were able to post any news.
We’re back!!!! We’re busy!!!! We’re loving the Air Cadets.
Last weekend we had a fundraising event for the Holbeach food festival.
It was so hot but the Cadets did us proud.
We raised more than we expected too.
Must have been the lovely sunshine ☀️

RAF Coningsby Families Day. 23/07/21.
Well what an excellent day we all had yesterday. Thank you to all the staff that helped to put this together to make this happen.
Was still dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s at midnight on Thursday night.
The Cadets were brilliant and worked, rested and played. Good laughs were had by all.
The Station Commander along with the Station Warrant Officer seemed pleased with our efforts and were impressed by our Cadets. A big thank you for the excellent welcome.
Well done Cadets, you did us proud.

Today marks the centenary of the Royal British Legion. Prince Charles said,

For 100 years, the RBL has been a constant, through the annual Poppy Appeal, leading the nation in remembrance, and providing a life-long commitment to every veteran and their families." He offered his "sincere and heartfelt gratitude" to those who helped build the charity.
