South East Lincolnshire Local Plan

South East Lincolnshire Local Plan The South East Lincolnshire Joint Policy Unit - planning for the areas of South Holland District and Boston Borough.

Each local planning authority is required to produce a Local Plan for its area which sets out policies for the development and use of land. In 2011, the South East Lincolnshire Joint Strategic Planning Committee Order came into force (2011 No.1455) which established a Joint Strategic Planning Committee for the areas of Boston Borough and South Holland District (known collectively as South East Lin

colnshire). The constituent authorities are Lincolnshire County Council, Boston Borough Council and South Holland District Council. The purpose of the Joint Committee is to exercise the functions of a local planning authority in relation to:
- the preparation, submission, adoption, monitoring and revision of joint local development documents identifited in a joint local development scheme; and
- the preparation, submission, adoption, monitoring and revision of a joint local development scheme, in respect of those documents. In light of the above, a joint Local Plan for South East Lincolnshire (Boston Borough and South Holland District) is being produced and will cover the period 2011- 2036. The Local Plan will attempt to give an effective spatial expression to the vision and aspirations of South East Lincolnshire's local communities and to those elements of the relevant strategies and programmes which relate to the development and use of land in the area.

The South East Lincolnshire Local Plan has today been submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.

An independent Planning Inspector will now consider whether the Local Plan has been prepared in accordance with the legislation and will also explore any outstanding subjects of disagreement.

The Planning Inspectorate will arrange hearing sessions where those who have made objections during the publication period can have these heard in public.

The timetable for these sessions will be set by the Planning Inspectorate but could possibly take place within the next 11 to 14 weeks.

The public will be able to attend, but further representations at the examination will now be by invitation from the Inspector only, and only from those who have made comments through the publication period and have registered their interest in attending the examination.

Any enquires regarding the Examination in Public should be directed to the Programme Officer (not the Local Plan team), who has been appointed to support the Inspector during the examination process. The contact details for the Programme Officer can be seen via the following link: http://www.southeastlincslocalplan.org/submission/

The South East Lincolnshire Local Plan was submitted to the Secretary of State on Friday 23rd June 2017. The official notice confirming this can be seen by clicking here. This means that the Local Plan is now in its ‘examination’ stage.
