This morning officers from our response and neighbourhood teams visited Nacro College in Spalding with our knife arch to talk to students and staff.

This was a great opportunity for good community engagement with some of the students, some who had a seat in the cage of our police van and use the lights and sirens.

All students were more than willing to pass through the arch with a few voluntary searches completed if the arch alarm sounded.

This exercise showcased the equipment that the police have available to them should a knife problem in educational centres ever arise and it was great to see staff and students alike showing their support.

More than 99% of knife offences committed by children in the UK are for possession alone and this can be for a wide range of reasons including fear & protection, social status and social media influences.

(Source: Youth Justic Board 2025)

We must remind everyone that none of the above are justified reasons for being in possession of a knife.

This morning’s initiative provided an opportunity for a positive interaction with students and staff and no doubt we’ll be back for different types of engagement in the future!

If you know anyone who’s carrying a knife, then contact the police on 999 in the event of an emergency or 101 in the event of a non-emergency.

🚨 Community Safety Message: Theft from Motor Vehicles 🚗

We’ve recently received reports of two incidents involving vehicles being left insecure, resulting in items being stolen.

🔒 Please help us prevent further incidents by taking a few simple precautions:
• Always lock your vehicle, even if you’re only leaving it for a short time
• Close windows and sunroofs fully
• Remove valuables from view – or better yet, take them with you
• Double-check your vehicle is secure before walking away

Most thefts from vehicles are opportunistic, and simply locking up can make a big difference.

🙏 Let’s work together to keep our community safe. If you notice suspicious activity, please report it.

Modern slavery and human trafficking enforcements in Boston and South Holland have taken place last month. Here's what happened.

Two individuals identified as illegally working were arrested for immigration offences last month as Neighbourhood Policing Teams, working alongside East Midlands Immigration Compliance & Enforcement unit, carried out enforcements across Boston and South Holland.

This follows earlier engagement in February, when both agencies carried out community outreach to raise awareness of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking. This included sharing information on the signs of exploitation, providing face-to-face advice, and signposting to reporting mechanisms for suspected illegal working and trafficking offences.

On Tuesday 5 May, officers visited four premises across Boston and South Holland. All businesses involved will now be subject to further investigation, with potential outcomes including enforcement action or financial penalties.

Sergeant Callum Corder, of Spalding’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "Exploitation is often linked to organised crime, and this work is instrumental in supporting safer communities. Through ongoing collaboration with local residents and businesses, our teams gain vital intelligence to help disrupt criminal activity and anti-social behaviour, protecting the public from harm, and supporting those who are vulnerable or at risk of exploitation. This particular project was undertaken by our Response officers, whom along with responding to 999 calls, are invested in the problem-solving of local community matters also.

"We urge anyone with concerns or information to please let us know. While you might not always see an immediate response, any information provided and concerns raised helps us build a better picture of potential problem areas, which in turn enables us to channel our resources most effectively.

"All intelligence is handled sensitively and confidentially. Together, we can continue to target modern slavery and human trafficking, along with its associated criminality and anti-social behaviour, to protect our communities."

There are a number of ways you can get in touch:
