Good to see the Salisbury Plain Training Area team out across the patch this month.

A solid team effort, with people working across areas, supporting each other and getting on with the job 💪

Focus has been on the basics - being visible, picking up issues, and improving the look and feel of estates. Litter picking has made a simple but noticeable difference 🌿

A good example of this in practice was supporting a family with an electrical issue - resolved on the spot, with time taken to explain things clearly. Exactly the kind of straightforward, proactive approach needed.

A few simple steps can help protect your home while you’re gone:

• Ask a trusted neighbour or friend to hold your keys and check in
• Turn off your water supply - hot weather can increase the risk of burst pipes
• Unplug electricals to reduce bills and lower fire risks

Across our estates, it’s been fantastic to see communities coming together through a simple but powerful initiative - growing sunflowers 🌻

In Pirbright, families came together for a sunflower coffee morning, connecting with local Housing Officer Emma Clarke while children got planting 🌼

At South Cerney Youth Club, over 70 growing packs have sparked a group project building skills, confidence and teamwork, with a friendly competition already underway 🌱

We’re also starting to see the first signs of growth, including at Chetwynd Barracks in Chilwell, where families are watching their sunflowers begin to sprout 🌿

A great example of how small ideas can create a positive impact - we’re looking forward to seeing these communities continue to grow.

At the start of May, the Pinnacle team joined forces for a community clear up in Catterick Garrison, led by Housing Officer Ayshih Mustafa.

From organising a litter pick to creating a nature trail and even a hedgehog hotel 🦔, Ayshih brought the whole idea to life - coordinating teams, sourcing materials, and engaging residents to get involved.

With support from Pinnacle, Amey, DIO, and the Military Housing Liaison Officer, the day was a great success. The result was a cleaner estate, a beautiful new nature area 🌳, and bags of litter removed from the community.

A fantastic example of teamwork and community spirit - well done to everyone involved! 🙌
