💙 Celebrating 24 Years of Dedication to Carers

After an incredible 24 years of dedicated service, today marks the day our CEO Jenni Wood is officially retiring from Durham County Carers Support.

Jenni has played a huge part in shaping DCCS into the organisation it is today. When DCCS was formed following the merger 14 years ago, we supported around 8,000 Carers. Today, that figure has grown to an amazing 34,000 Carers across County Durham and Darlington.

Reflecting on her time with DCCS, Jenni said:

“To have a job where you can make a difference every day has been a gift.”

From September, Liz Johns and Jacqui Coulson will step into their new Co-CEO roles, building on Jenni’s fantastic legacy and continuing our commitment to ensuring unpaid Carers have a voice and access to the support they need.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Jenni for everything she has given to DCCS and to unpaid Carers over the past 24 years. 💙

We wish her a very happy and well-deserved retirement filled with family, music festivals and plenty of singing! 🎶

Please join us in wishing Jenni all the very best for her next chapter. 💐
