Think very carefully before you take your dog on a walk this week. With a rare red heat warning being issued in parts of the UK, hot pavements and high temperatures can quickly put dogs at risk 💔

Please share this post to reach more dog owners.

Hold the back of your hand to the ground for several seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

Walk dogs during the coolest times of the day, such as early morning or late evening. On exceptionally hot days, it may be best to avoid walks altogether and instead focus on enrichment activities and keeping your dog cool and comfortable at home.

One of SfH's core objectives in 2026 is to enhance their storytelling of the SRS Adopter community, as well as encourage ideas sharing and collaboration between housing providers They are keen to spotlight 3-5 outstanding housing associations this year from all corners of the UK who are doing excellent sustainability work and showcase best practice among the SRS Adopter group; and LRHA have been selected! 🎉

LRHA stood out to them due to our unique rural positioning and local focus. They were impressed with the quality of our ESG-SRS report, particularly considering our organisation's small size. They said that “this tells an important story for the SRS - that you don't have to be a large London HA in order to make a real, positive sustainability impact”.

Over the coming months they will be working with LRHA to amplify our story, and our advocacy for rural social housing, alongside the value of the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing.

Danielle Hughes, Head of Sustainability for Housing, recently spent the day with SRS Adopter Lincolnshire Rural Housing Association Ltd. (LRHA) to learn more about its approach to sustainability, resident engagement and community impact. She was interested to discover how LRHA is embedding sustainab...
