From Monday the 17th to Friday 21st, we’ve organised many events to promote popular education and activism on campus!

Monday: People and Planet‘s workshop on divesting borders.
Our universities legitimate and directly profit from the detention, deportation and surveillance of migrating people through their investments in the companies that inflict and profit from such injustices. We, the students of the University of St Andrews, demand that this Union publicly support Fossil Free Careers’ campaign with the following motions:

1. An end to the University of St Andrews’ relationships with oil, gas and mining companies.

2. A publicly available Ethical Careers Policy that explicitly excludes these companies from recruitment opportunities.

We demand that the SU refuse access to all fossil fuel companies to all of its events and spaces.

We further demand that this Union mandate the relevant officers to link up Union and University staff with the Fossil Free Careers campaign.

Finally, we demand that this Union use its social media channels, website and contacts to promote this motion and subsequent relevant communiques.
