Did you know? 24/7 Hot meals at St Georges and Redwoods ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐ŸŒŸ

Our Catering Team provides 24/7 access to hot meals for colleagues working outside normal catering service hours at both St George's Hospital, Stafford and The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury.

St George's Hospital, Stafford -

Located on-site, you'll find the I'm So Good Smart Freezer, stocked with a wide range of nutritious ready meals, alongside a smart microwave to heat your meal in minutes.

I'm So Good specialises in providing healthy, convenient meals designed with busy healthcare environments in mind. Their meals are developed with input from nutritionists and food scientists, providing balanced, high-quality food options whenever they're needed. The concept is becoming increasingly popular across NHS organisations, helping ensure staff have access to hot, nutritious meals during night shifts, weekends and out-of-hours working.

The Redwoods Centre, Shrewsbury -

At the Redwoods Centre, you'll find the Oakhouse Foods vending machine in the Bistro area of the Wrekin Building, just around the corner from reception.

The machine offers a selection of hearty frozen meals that can be heated quickly, providing a convenient hot food option for staff, patients and visitors whenever the Bistro is closed.

Haywood Hospital (coming soon) -

We're pleased to share that Haywood Hospital is currently in the process of introducing a new 24/7 out of hours meal vending solution. This will further expand access to convenient food options for colleagues working around the clock.

Available 24 hours a day, 7-days a week ๐Ÿ“ฃ

Whether you're starting an early shift, working late, or need something substantial overnight, both vending solutions provide access to hot meals whenever you need them.

Why not give them a try next time you're on site?

Thank you for your feedback on the Natural Innovations Salad Bar Trial ๐Ÿฅ—

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Georges Bistro to sample the new Natural Innovations Salad Bar Concept and share their feedback.

We're delighted to say that the response was overwhelmingly positive, with many colleagues highlighting the fresh ingredients, vibrant flavours and ability to build a meal to suit individual tastes.

As a result, we're pleased to announce that Natural Innovations will be returning for Wellness Wednesday on 26th August 2026, where we'll be running a full 6-step Build Your Own Salad Bowl experience.

The salad bar allows you to create your own balanced lunch by choosing from a range of bases, grains, proteins, vegetables, dips and toppings, all inspired by fresh, modern flavours.

Following the successful trial and subject to final operational arrangements, we are aiming to introduce the Natural Innovations concept as part of our regular salad bar offering from Tuesday 1st September 2026.

We'd like to thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback and support the trial. We look forward to welcoming you back on Wellness Wednesday to enjoy the full experience. ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ‘

We would like to share and celebrate one of our staff memberโ€™s achievements in completing a Level 5 Apprenticeship in Operational Management.

Suzanne, came to our Logistics team in Estates & Facilities, as an Assistant Facilities Manager in April 2023 coming from several previous roles within MPFT, including the Trust PPE team and also the Trust COVID Vaccination team.

She spoke with the MPFT Workforce Development team and enrolled on this Level 5 Operational Management Apprenticeship as part of her own development into her new role.

It has taken two years of hard work, written assessments, practical assessments and projects and the formal part of this apprenticeship has been finished but what has made the difference is how she has personally developed into a professional Operations Manager within our Facilities and Logistics team.

We would like to congratulate Suzanne on this achievement and for being a role model and ambassador for modern apprenticeships within MPFT, she truly is an inspiration in showing what can be achieved when you take a step forward. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽŠ
