The Wolseley Centre More than just a Visitor Centre! Set in 26 acres of former landscape gardens, The Wolseley Centre was once the ancestral home of the Wolseley family.

Now managed with wildlife in mind, our head quarters has everything for a great day out! The Wolseley Centre is the headquarters of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust - the county's leading nature conservation charity with over 18,000 members. With 2 walking trails, a wildlife garden, wildflower meadow, sensory garden, orchard and woodland there is plenty to enjoy at a visit to Wolseley!

Our Kingfisher Café has started giving out the coffee grounds to customers. This helps keep used coffee grounds out of the general waste, where they would be landfilled or incinerated. Using them in our gardens is the greenest way to dispose of them.🪴

You've heard of a Bear Hunt but how about a Beaver Quest?! 🦫

Join us at The Wolseley Centre to learn all about these amazing ecosystem engineers. 💦

📆 Friday 28 August, 10am - 12pm
🧒 Activities suitable for children aged 4+

It will include:
• A guided walk – see signs of beavers for yourself!
• A river dip to see what creatures we can find.
• Plus other fun activities as we explore how beavers shape rivers, create wildlife habitats and transform landscapes.

❗ Did you know we have an off-road tramper (mobility scooter) for hire? This means we can welcome those with limited mobility along to this event (using our new boardwalk). If you have any questions or need more information about accessibility please give us a call on 01889 880100.

Please note you will not see any wild beavers during this event, just in case anyone was wondering. 😅

Children can learn how to use tools to make useful items, build shelters to protect us from the weather and generally have lots of fun!

We have our new shelving up for our lovely new coffee & teas including: breakfast tea, decaffeinated breakfast tea, earl grey, peppermint, lemongrass & ginger & red berries. These are supplied by Chartley Coffee. A second-generation, family-run independent coffee roastery located at Hixon Airfield Industrial Estate. We're sure you'll agree in that they are very tasty.

Join our café team at The Wolseley Centre

We’re looking for warm, welcoming people to join the team at our Kingfisher Café, where great food helps support wildlife across Staffordshire.

We currently have two roles available:
☕ Catering Assistant Supervisor – 30 hours per week permanent
🍰 Catering Assistant – part time sessional

If you enjoy working with people, being part of a supportive team, and spending your days surrounded by nature, we’d love to hear from you.

We’ve got a drop in session from 10am until 3pm (last ticket at 2.30pm).

🎟️ £5 for three runs.

No booking needed, pay on the day. Over 4s solo sledging, under 4s can sledge with an adult. More info 👇
