Tameside Council's draft Climate and Environment Strategy is out for consultation. Comments can be made until 29th December 2026.

This vitally important Strategy was considered at our Place Scrutiny meeting on Tuesday where we talked about the importance of recycling, renewable energy, CO2 reduction, energy efficiency and the need to promote joint initiatives to help prevent floods, wild fires and the effects of drought.

A new chapter is beginning for Stalybridge Library and Art Gallery 📖

As work gets underway on Stalybridge Library and Art Gallery, library services will temporarily relocate next door to Victoria Market Hall from Monday 19 October 2026.

We can't wait to welcome you to our temporary home while these exciting improvements take place.

It's a sad day for me, and all at the RIDGEHILL TOGETHER HUB as our fantastic friend, colleague and Manager, Margaret embarks on her well earned retirement.

Margaret truly has been at the "hub" of life for the past seven years. From managing the RidgeHill Big Local Hub through to establishing Ridgehill Together she has worked tirelessly for our community. From the fantastic Bread and Butter Thing, to advocating for new health facilities, she has worked with Adrian, Jan and myself, along with local volunteers to improve facilities on the estate. But more than that, through the fantastic Ridgehill Together Hub she has helped our community to find a place and a voice.

Very pleased to welcome Kirsty from Go North West Social Value team to meet with trustees from RIDGEHILL TOGETHER HUB. We wanted to say thank you for the small grant secured towards music equipment for the Youth Music project, jointly run with the Council's Music Service and Community Safety Partnership.
We hope to collaborate on future projects designed to support Ridgehill Together and combat loneliness and isolation for our older residents.
