After many years serving the community from our current premises, we have reluctantly reached the point where we must look at relocating our Post Office branch.
This is genuinely the last thing we ever wanted to do. We know how important this branch is to local people, and we understand the attachment many customers have to its current location. However, despite ongoing efforts to maintain and operate from the existing building, the premises are unfortunately no longer fit for purpose.
Persistent structural and maintenance issues have increasingly impacted both staff and customer facilities, making it harder to continue delivering the safe, reliable service the community deserves.
Our priority has always been & remains protecting the long-term future of the branch and ensuring Stalybridge continues to have a strong, sustainable Post Office service for years to come. The proposed move would allow us to continue serving customers in a safer, more suitable environment while maintaining the vital services local residents and businesses rely upon daily.
We appreciate that change can be unsettling, and we are grateful for the continued support, understanding, and loyalty shown by our community ❤️ Team SB
STALYBRIDGE’S Post Office could be on the move if a switch can be agreed.
Postmasters at the Trinity Street site are proposing to relocate to a nearby location on the ground floor of The Hayloft on Dean Street.
They say it would continue to operate as one of our main style branches, offering the same range of services as currently.
And they feel it would improve what it already provides.
