Reform UK and our local Council Group will always support our local farmers and the great annual Open Farm Sunday at Oak Farm on Matley Lane.

A well organised event with a massive turnout highlighting the everyday life of farmers and the significant issues they face. The strength of feeling and public support for the local farming community is clear.

On this 82nd anniversary of the D-Day landings, we honour the service and courage of the brave men of Tameside that participated in the Normandy invasion.

To those who gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice for King and Country, we thank you and we remember you.

Today, Reform UK Tameside & Gorton pauses to remember the Manchester Arena attack of 22 May 2017.

Nine years on, we remember the 22 innocent people who were murdered, the many more who were injured, and every family whose life was changed forever by that night.

We will never forget them.

We also pay tribute to the courage of the emergency services, first responders, hospital staff, members of the public, and all those who stood together in the face of terror.

We must never lose sight of our duty to protect the public and confront extremism at its roots in ensuring that Islamist terror attacks like the one Manchester suffered on that night will never happen again.

This brutal act of terror left an indelible mark on the history of Manchester with the aim of instilling fear into the consciousness of every Mancunian. We will not live in fear, we will not falter and we will not change our way of life.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the families, survivors, and everyone still living with the pain of this senseless attack on that terrible night.
